A woman will need plastic surgery for serious burns and three other women were also injured, after they sat on
public toilets smeared with a chemical in Christchurch early this morning.
Three women had gone into the public toilets in Sydenham Park around 2am, Christchurch police Senior Sergeant Neru Leifi said.
"It appears that a clear, gel-like substance had been smeared on the toilet seats, press-down buttons and on the building's walls," he said.
After using the toilets and suffering burns from the chemical, the women sought medical help.
