No TP for Granny

Posted 02.19.2004 by Dave J
News Flash- Not only are old people in nursing homes frequently required to poop while still in bed (a la bed pans), but now, in this particular Nursing Home, they aren't treated to the basic necessity of facility-provided toilet paper. While this move to cut costs has many of the family members of the residents up in arms, what those complainers are failing to realize is that there's a very good chance that Grandma or Grandad frequently forgets to wipe anyway! Looking at it from this standpoint, one can easily justify the Home's decision to eliminate the elimination tissue.
"HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT?"
I can hear the e-mails now...
Wait, however; While the logic provided by the Retirement Home's spokesperson is shaky at best, at least he's opperating under the presumption that by cutting costs, the level of care can be maintained. Which would you rather have?
Nice, squishy 3-ply paper?
Or Medicine?

Yeah, me too...you ever try to wipe your butt with a couple of Tylenol?
Show some poop support, or make a poop retort.

Many of the elderly residents in the nursing home I work in are either too lazy or too ill to get up and use the toilet in the first place. In fact, many of them don't even opt for the bedpan, instead deciding to simply ask us to put a "diaper" on them. They actually enjoy the liberty of pooping their pants and having someone else clean it up. What do they need toilet paper for if they have adult diapers, wash rags or adult wet wipes, and a CNA?

Well unfortunately my kids said they are putting me in a nursing home the first time I forget my name. I heard they give the men sleeping pills and Viagra at night. The sleeping pills to put you to sleep and the Viagra to keep you from rolling out of the bed. I guess i'll find out soon.
