Two guys rob a bank in PA, then hide out in a motel. The police are on them like stink on a monkey, so one robber decides to try to "reduce" the charge against him, and flushes the cash down the toilet.

The toilet is found to be plugged ever since the dynamic duo had hid out in the room, so the motel's maintenance guys remove said toilet, flip it over, and start pulling out scratch. Of course, up to this point, the police apparently had no idea what happened to the money that was stolen.

Well, the maintenance guys claim to have pulled out $200 (mostly ripped $10 bills). Who's to say that there wasn't significantly more in the trap than that? Seems to me that US currency, which measures about 6" in length, would not pose a problem to the plumbing, especially if it's torn in half. That's equivelant to flushing 40 sheets of TP (granted, money is a lot thicker than motel TP, but still...). What if the maintenance guys found substantially more, but only turned over the cash that was too dammaged (being all ripped etc) to be used for their own ill-gotten reasons?

Seems a bit suspicious to me, but I've been accused of being too cynical, so maybe I'm wrong. Worth thinkin' about tho!
