Virgin cancels its urinal plans

Well, it seems that I wasn't the only one chagrined by the idea of peeing into a woman's mouth. After N.O.W. and a bunch of other organizations got invovled, Virgin Airways cancelled their plans for a urinal designed to look like a woman's open mouth.

I disagree with the vehemence of the rhetoric printed in that article -- it IS funny. I don't think it is expressely misogonystic... I just know from my experience running this site that people would interpret it that way, just like people keep on sending me poopsex stories.

In that sense, I guess that people see in something what they WANT to see. If people have a poop fetish, they will see poopsex everywhere. If they are misogynist, they will see ways to degrade women everywhere they go. The question is: how much should their deviant beliefs be encouraged, expressly or through implication, by a society? In the case of PR, I actively discourage the erotic interpretation of these stories. But in the case of pissing into a porcelain woman's mouth, there is really no effort to discourage an antisocial interpretation of the act. So I guess that's the problem -- the subtext of the act is universally misogonystic.

This SUCKS! Some politically correct assholes ban a urinal because it looks like red lips?! This is BULLSHIT!

I'm going to buy two of those things for every one that whinning PC freaks prevent from being installed.

Maybe Virgin Airways should build a urinal that looks exactly like one of the protesters!

Well, I suggested a urinal that looked like a giant open-mouthed GW Bush, but I had no takers.

P.S. I'm a woman and I thought it was funny. People get too sensitive about things these days!!! I should sue those morons for lost time for all the apologies and disclaimers I have to attach to all my documentaries just because there are so many dumbasses and over-sensitive crybabies out there.
