The Clean Bathroom Crusader

The school bathroom is a notorious place. From turd terrorists to doorless stalls, they're a nightmare for all students, not to mention the Shameless Shitters who are horrified to even go in there.

But 61-year-old Tom Keating of Georgia wants to change all that. His mission: to transform school bathrooms into bastions of hygiene and good citizenship.
Show some poop support, or make a poop retort.

This dude sounds kinda nuts to me. I got used to school bathrooms with all their faults. They taught me to be a shameless shitter. If they get all fancy, the whole world will turn into shameful shitters!

I'm pretty sure that he wants to make th bathrooms nicer and more sanitary, shame has nothing to do with it. Shameful-Shameless shitting is all about how you use it.

I went to my 20-year class reunion last week. The condition of the restrooms sure have taken a dip since the Class of '88 left, and many of us felt they sucked back then. Often, after school when we were talking in the parking lot and making plans, the conversation would always end up whose house we were going to go to and inevitably, two or three of us couldn't wait to get out of the lot because we had been "holdin' it" for much of the day. The students, however, should rightfully be involved in working with administrators on solutions. Many of the problems are caused by students who have not been properly taught to "pick up" after themselves. Just yesterday, I had a teachable moment with my 7-year-old daughter. She stood up after crapping in a gas station bathroom, wiped, but missed the bowl and the dirty toilet paper hit the floor. She pulled her underwear and shorts up and moved by me to open the restroom door and I blocked it, telling her 3 things needed to happen: 1) pickup the paper and place it in the bowl, 2) flush; 3) wash her hands. When she started to complain, I gave her the dreaded three-count with my left hand. Parents need to do their jobs, too.

While I was attending college I worked for a few months as a janitor in a local primary school. The boys did not pee in the urinals, instead the little bastards pissed on the floor. I would enter the bathroom and hook up a hose and spray the place down then mop it dry. One artistically inclined little moppet did a finger painting on a stall wall using shit as her media.

My Japanese wife tells me that way back when she was in school there were no janitors. She said the school was divided into teams and they competed to see who could do the best job. I saw a special on educational TV a few years ago and that still seems to be the case in Japan.

If the kids were doing the cleaning themselves I feel there would be fewer instances of piddle & turd terrorism and more instances of blowing the whistle on those who continued with such practices.
