A South Carolina
woman pleaded guilty last month to federal charges of mailing $9,000 worth of soiled underwear that she advertised over the Internet. The case was investigated by U.S. Postal Service agents. The woman faces up to five years in prison or a $250,000 fine on charges of "mailing indecent and filthy substances." My briefs often have skid marks on them, but I didn't realize that they were worth $9,000. Also, those of you who send your dirty laundry home to Mom for washing should remember not to use the U.S. Postal service! It could cost you $250,000!
