Weekend Urinals

Posted 08.15.2002 by Dakota
Now you see them, now you don't! Westminster City Council in London, England plans to introduce urinals that rise out of the ground on Friday and Saturday nights. This typically British solution has been developed to cope with the problem of an increasing number of British dudes who piss in the street. Research shows that half of Britain's public toilets have closed in the past 15 years and the ones that remain are often disgusting. Clara Greed who wrote the report says that the toilets are "often dirty and unhygienic with problems of vandalism, graffiti and cottaging." She added: "There is far less provision for women. Women on average spend about 90 seconds in the loo, compared to 40 seconds for men." So if you're in the UK on vacation try to restrict your need to piss to the weekends.

Sounds like a very ingenious idea, but why are the Brits closing their public bathrooms.

I would think that in the long run, it would be cheaper to just clean the public bathrooms and keep them open. They could save themselves alot of grief.
