"FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. -- Engineers in this arid region have a controversial solution for water shortages: Reuse the water that is flushed down toilets.

"'There is a yuck factor, but we explain to people the quality of water will end up being actually higher than what we already use,' says Ron Wildermuth, spokesman for the Orange County Water District. That agency is collaborating with the Orange County Sanitation District to build a $600 million sewage-purification system. When completed over the next 20 years, the system is expected to be the largest of its kind in the world."

I kind of thought the early ones were written with the tone of an actual newswire machine. You know, a teletype or whatever those things are in old movies that involve journalism. Like in "Good Morning, Vietnam", when they tear off the paper from the machine and edit it before Robin Williams can read the news over the radio. That's what I picture when I read the older ones.

In North Carolina there have been reports of E. Coli in the water in a very small area--perhaps someone skimped on the strict standards at the poop plant?

This old NewsWire is not very much like the newer ones. Oh how PoopReport has evolved. I'm glad for us. I know I haven't been a registered member for very long, but I've been around here for a very long time.
