An
Ohio man filed a $1.5 million lawsuit against a Knoxville Marriott hotel after finding a hidden camera in a bathroom light fixture. Bryan Brewer discovered the small video camera after noticing a tiny black spot in the fixture. He thought it was an insect and swatted at it thereby inadvertently breaking the plastic cover on the light fixture. He called the front desk and offered to pay for the damage. While he was waiting for someone to fix the damage, however, Brewer noticed wires and discovered a small video camera. A further look by security personnel confirmed that it was an elaborate, self-contained, video recording system. It was set up to record when the bathroom light was turned on and to stop recording when the light was turned off. In addition to the $1.5 million dollars, Mr. Brewer is demanding that the video be turned over to him, but it is being held as evidence. His anxiety suggests that he may have been caught on video while taking a dump. Marriott is cooperating fully with the investigating authorities.
