"A central Indiana couple was accused of punishing their 9-year-old son by shutting him in a room littered with cat feces and forcing him to remain there for days.

"The boy's mother, Hope Lee White, 35, and stepfather, Jason Wayne White, 29, were being held on $3,000 bond Tuesday night in the Johnson County jail on preliminary charges of child neglect. If convicted, each could face up to three years in prison.

"Police who searched the home on a warrant Sunday found the younger boy confined to a 10-foot-by-12-foot room with no furniture, two cats, a litter box and piles of cat feces."

At least he had company, and I don't mean that to be funny. Animals can be a real comfort to abused children. It also makes me sad when kids are removed from the custody of their parents, and the foster system doesn't allow for them to take their pets.

I wonder what happened to this little dude and the cats.

I hope they get the book thrown at them. Not just for child neglect, but for animal neglect as well.

That is just disgusting, and cruel.

It blows my mind, as to how anyone can live in a home that has those conditions.
