Diarrhea Causes Football Game Loss

A Florida high school football team playing an away game showed no signs of illness while on the bus to the game. During the game, however, most of them developed severe diarrhea. They shat all over their uniforms and several of the team's best players were in the locker room trying to clean themselves up in the critical last minutes of their losing game. Their coach Richard Burnoski said that the opposing school had filled his team's water coolers before the game. He believes that one or more of the opposing team's supporters put laxatives in his team's water coolers as a prank before the kickoff. "We lost the game and we're not trying to make excuses, but when 15 kids have the same problem at the same time, I'm almost positive something was in the water," Burnoski said.

I read this article online. Not only did the football players get diarrhea, but Mr. Burnoski also did. I saw a photo of him - he's a big guy. His poor, sore butt - hope he was on the john for three days.

I dunno. For all of the players to get the same BUG at the same time, down to within the same HOUR or so, they would have had to have EACH been exposed to the germs to a VERY similar degree at the SAME time.

And, incubation of diseases varies by individual. The cold that grabs a 120-pound kicker may or may not incubate at the same time as a 220-pound linebacker.

For the whole team to get diarrhea at the same time, with NO ONE vomiting, is suspicious. One or more of them would have had fevers or cramps or nausea earlier in the day, and one or more of them would have fallen ill a day or so earlier, and some a day or so later.

I call "Foul!"
