It's fun to report on the bad things the meat industry does. If anyone hasn't read Fast Food Nation, I suggest you do... you probably won't eat beef after that.
Incidentally, I've been to Greeley, Colorado, where this story takes place. The slaughterhouses outside of town cause the ENTIRE TOWN to reek of, well, God knows what. But that town reeks. Because of the meat people.

"A large Colorado beef processing plant blamed for a massive meat recall was allowed to reopen on Wednesday, four days after it was closed because of animal feces contamination, the U.S. Agriculture Department said.
"The Greeley, Colorado, plant operated by Swift & Co. was closed on Friday after USDA inspectors discovered
animal feces on some beef products."
