Constipation.net: An interesting site. But be warned: there are gory close-up pictures of rectal surgery on the homepage!
Excerpts from a book entilted 'Shining Light on Constipation': Ya wonder what the author was thinking when he came up with the title. But there is some valuable information here. First, the package instructions for most brands of bulk laxative give misleading information.

- 'The recommended dose on the back of the (psyllium powder/Metamucil)bottle often does not clear up most anal problems. Therefore, I recommend a dose of three heaping tablespoonfuls (not teaspoonfuls) in water, juice or milk once each morning.'
- 'Most Americans use dry toilet paper to wipe the anal area after moving their bowels. This smears the feces over the anal skin. The more a person wipes, the more the feces (pronounced fee-sees) is rubbed into the skin. This causes itching and irritation.'
It's frightening to imagine that there are people out there surfing the net who would need to be told the correct way to pronounce 'feces'. But the good doc's butt wiping tips are 100% correct.
