"A dairy near Gustine, its former owner and the farm's foreman have been indicted on manslaughter charges two years after
a pair of irrigation workers passed out and drowned in a manure pit.
"Patrick J. Faria, 51, and Alcino Sousa Nunes, 44, face multiple felony indictments unsealed Friday in Merced County Superior Court, including two involuntary manslaughter counts and 20 violations of state safety codes. If convicted, they could spend up to four years in state prison and be fined $250,000.
