Members collected the bathroom tissue to donate to the Vista del Camino Center in Scottsdale. The center assists the city's low-income residents.
The Rev. Fred Doidge said the 65-member church has been a supporter of the Vista over the years. Rita Koppinger, the Vista's human services manager, visited the church earlier this summer and told about the need for donations, including toilet paper.
"I said this would be a different and fun project. We've collected toilet paper. We've got 24-packs, eight-packs and 36-packs," Doidge said.
The goal was to
stack the rolls to reach the ceiling of the estimated 12-foot-high church sanctuary. By Friday, they were halfway there.
