I had a Black Lab years ago that used to swallow tennis balls whole!

Sometimes when he was on alert and ready to plunge into the water to retrieve a duck, his tail would stand straight up exposing his huge, red bunghole.

On this one particular occasion, his tail was straight up in the air, he was poised to leap into a frigid pond, and I noticed a bright, lime-green object beginning to emerge from his ass. I got down on my knees to get a closer look, and was surprised to see the front half of a florescent green tennis ball slowly extruding from his dialating sphincter.

I let out a loud, "OH MY GOD!" that must've startled the Lab, because he suddenly farted the tennis ball outta his butt as he lept into the water. The ball hit me directly on the forehead and bounced out into the pond.

Barnes (the dog) dutifully retreaved the ball, dropped it at my feet, and gave me a funny look I guess because by this time I was rolling on the ground laughing uncontrollably.

hello , i went to a chriopractor and i got a electric stimulus in my back. the next day when i went to the bathroom i wiped and it was green. the color of grass. today i went normal bowel movement and it was dark again and i wiped and it was green. i feel great. what could this be. should i call a doctor. i have never had this andi dont know if this is related to the doctor.

Sounds like she might be allergic to a food dye. Check what sorts of candy and cereals she might be eating. One of them is probably making her sick.

I ate some grownd beef ( I cooked it myself) so I l know it was well done. I had some left from lunch and ate it when I got home from work. When I got to work the next day I went to the bathroom and had a green bowel movement and a lot of it, no diarriah but soft definately green. dark green.

I've been having green bowl movements for a couple days now too. It started after I ate a cake with green frosting on it, so I assumed it was the frosting. However it came back again, and I haven't been eating the cake since. I do take iron supplements, and I read that that can be a cause of green bowl movement. Mine was also dark green.

I have diverticulosis. After eating popcorn (dammit, the best snack) I apparently presented with a rather serious stomachache and green (of various consistensies) poop. I'm in my 20's, which is rare for that to occur, but not unheard of. Antibiotics cured me... and for the last year, I've decided popcorn just isn't worth giving up -- and thankfully, no relapses!

I've been having dark green stools for 4 days now... at first i suspected some kool-aid or other diet anomalies, but it went from mostly brown with some green residue on the wipe, to a funky dark green 'paste'. It doesn't particularly smell bad, and i feel fine otherwise with no stomach or intestinal distress or 'rhea, so i'm a bit confused and wondering if i should be worried. I'm not taking any iron suppliments or anything so it's not that. any opinions appreciated.

I had a horrible stomach ache for about 4 - 5 days. It was probably one of the worse I ever experienced, with a heartburn-like pain in my chest also. It worked pretty well and now (about a week after the aches began)I think Im back to normal. With one exception, I've been shitting VERY Dark green for about the past 2 or 3 days. Black poop isn't good... could be a GI bleed (blood turns black). Black poop could also be from pepto (bismuth products.)

Black poop can be caused by a number of things. Before you freak out, think of any foods you might've eaten that are known to cause black poop (like blueberries). If you can't think of anything, a doctor visit is probably in order.

i've had a problem since i can remember~food makes me sick. everytime i eat i feel like i'm gonna shet my ars out, and my bowels\stomach hurts. throwing up is common, but not intentional. i often poop green poop and every once in a while black. i also get extremely painful spots in my abdominal area, but those happen maby once every 6 months. i dunno, i eat mostly meats, pasta, and no fruits or vegetables except beans and potatoes. (not green) i also get sick easily, weak immune system?

have yall heard of anything near this?

black roses: my dad has something called like... cyclic abdominal migraines. its really rare in adults, but more common in children. it kinda sounds similar what you are experiencing. dont jump to any conclusions, im no doctor, but it never hurts to do a bit of research!

Did you take Pink Bismuth (Pepto Bismol) for the nausea? That'll turn your poop black. It's harmless. Assuming it went away in a day or so. If you DIDN'T take Pepto, and the black color persists, go see a doctor.

My poop is bright green today. It is somewhat normal to soft, no other symptoms (stomache ache, etc). I just got home from a long road trip throughout the southern U.S. Yesterday while traveling I had blue licorice at a truck stop in Kentucky. After reading all the postings on green poo, I think that licorice did it. or maybe the bottle of red wine the night before last? Anyway. I had to 'google' green poop to find out if I should be alarmed. I am glad to know that I'm not the only person with unusually green poo.
sidenote....Last year, I spent four months in Africa and experienced some horrible poop trauma, and heard many poop problems from others. it is a regular topic of conversation amongst westerners traveling in a third world or developing country.
With all things considered, I believe a few days of green poop after eating KY blue raspberry licorice is harmless. (hopefully)

I usually get up in the morning and have the morning poo... its usually very soft, sometimes watery and always accompanied with lots of gas. Well 3 nights ago I had a couple slices of very very greasy pizza and that morning around 5 I woke up with horrible stomach pains on my left side and I have noticed that since that night I have not had my usualy big poo drop in the morning and not much gas to talk about. I Also have been up the past two nights with those horrible pains again and I can feel and hear gurgling going on down there. I actually wiped my ass last night after some stomache pains... and it was GREEN... grass green... then i looked in the toilet bowl and there were some lettuce from the chicken sandwich i ate earlier from the Habbit. Green/Black Poop potential cause.

I have had this too. Dark green to black looking. I though it could have been the iguanna I ate but then I read in the Medica (health ins) handbook that if you take anything with Bismuth in it this can happen. That means Pepto bismol,Malox etc. Look it up.
It helped calm me down and notice it only happes when I take a few Big doses or more in a day, I was freaked too.

Purple Poop experience:
I was a nurses aid and came across this in patients with long term hepatitis and liver problems... a good idea to get a THOROUGH work up if you know you are eating foods without dies or drinks without dies.

HARD STOOLERS:
Typical problem taken care of by hot clear water of 2 cups first thing in the morning, and if you are a big man, at least 3-4. Do this before eating by 1/2 an hour to an hour. And drink a cup or glass of liquid after every meal. Keep your meats for noontime, and eat veges or fruits at night with no bread. Soups are good to.

Just to reconfirm, twice in two weeks - 3-4 cans of grape soda in a day = bright green poop for a day or two. Kind of runny, too. Fanta Grape Soda - according to the can it has food colorings RED 40 and Blue 1.

I have a enlarged spleen and it is causing me more and more pain. I also have gallbladder problems and gallstones. So I know some of the problems are from that however recently I spent two weeks in the hospital because the pain was so terrible. Found out that I had caught a parisite. I got better but now I am getting sick again. I went to the bathroom today and had alot of green poop and it was painful to pass but it was very soft. I am concerned I am getting sick again. I feel sick and funning a fever alot and have no energy. I have no insurance so I don't want to go to the hospital if it isn't nessecary. Probably not, AC 4/23/08. Especially if you have started eating healthier. Have you been eating a lot of salad greens, perhaps? I know if I eat too much salad (as I have probably stated above) my poop will come out green for days afterward. Try eating different foods in your new diet, and laying off the salad greens for a few days to see what will happen. If the green poops stop, then you shouldn't worry about it and just enjoy your salads. If they don't stop, try to find other causes for the problem (such as minerals in your local water). The only time I would worry about calling a doctor is if your poop is bloody or black.

I had a gray-green poop one day after consuming lots of lettuce, spinach, and lime jello; it was nice. Yesterday, last day at school, I had to go urgently when I arrived, so I opened my room and went straight to the restroom. After a large movement, a quite normal brown color, I noticed a red (quite red, not brownish red) tint in the water, obviously coming from my poop and slowly getting more intense. Then I remembered: I had had a small portion of beets the night before. It wasn't enough to tint the poop red, but it certainly tinted the water.
