It's a very simple question: if people eat the same, will they crap the same?

It started when AssBlaster2000, an uberpooper and regular forums contributor, noted:

I have only ever shat once a day or even every other day, and I eat a lot for a woman. My turds are usually 6" long and 1-2" in diameter. Is this a small amount of shit or do I just have a slow metabolism? Before coming to PoopReport, I never even heard of people taking a shit multiple times a day on a regular basis. Who is normal? Why, besides amount and quality of diet, do some people shit more than others?

Maybe we should do a poop experiment. Have someone who shits only once a day and someone who shits multiple times eat the same thing in a day, and see how much they both shit. I'll do it. Any other volunteers?


The methodology: AssBlaster and I (a 2x/3x daily shitter) will eat the same diet for three days, and see if we crap the same amount.

The first two days are designed to equalize our bowels so we can see for certain if we have the same results from our diet on the third day.

If we do, then we know that crapping capacity is based wholly on what you eat. If we don't, then we've proven that different people are different. Either way, it's jolly good science.

Obvious? Perhaps. Futile? Maybe. But shitting in the name of science is one of the divine callings of the true PoopReporters.

Want to play at home? Here is the diet. We're starting Tuesday. Let us know in the forums if you are going to participate. The more people who help out, the more scientific the results will be.


The OFFICIAL diet -- no more changes


DAY ONE
Breakfast Half-cup (4 oz) oatmeal
16 oz Orange Juice
Lunch Wendy's Mandarin Chicken Salad
16 oz water
Dinner One cup pasta w/ Ragu Marinara sauce
2 slices bread
Banana
Snacks Snickers Bar
32 oz water (during the whole day)


DAY TWO
Breakfast Plain bagel and cream-cheese
16 oz Apple Juice
Lunch Subway 6-inch turkey sub
Cup of water (16 oz)
Banana
Dinner Chicken Ceaser Salad (2 cereal-size bowlfuls, w/ Paul Newman Dressing)
2 slices bread
"Drumstick" Ice Cream Cone
16 oz water
Snacks Nature Valley Granola Bar (regular)
32 oz water (during the whole day)


DAY THREE
Breakfast 4 oz oatmeal
16 oz Orange Juice
Lunch Healthy Choice French Bread Pizza
12 oz can Coke Classic
Apple
Dinner Chinese -- Sesame Chicken w/ white rice
Fortune Cookie
16 oz. water
Snacks Nature Valley Granola Bar (regular)
32 oz water (during the whole day)

Remember, if you make any additions or subtractions guys, tell us. Also- Not all Pizza and subs are created equal. Be sure to note where you got the sub, and what was on it. As for pizza, stick with a major chain like dominoes so I can read the nutrition info on your pizza. (Yes, I have acess to the nutrition info on all fast food places, my mother can guess the fat, calories, sugars, etc. on anything with her eyes closed, it's amazing.)

As for the Chinese, you need a portion size.

Nature valley granola might be hard to find, perhaps switch to quaker "chewy" brand, which are readilly avalible nationwide.

Hey TCM, what's your connection with this project? Are you the project supervisor? I thought this was AB2K's project. It sounds interesting. If, however, the guys at work heard me ordering a Wendy's Mandarin Chicken Salad or a granola bar, I'd be the butt of jokes for years to come. Also, I'd get acute cheeseburger withdrawal, but I guess Dave and AB2K have to make the sacrifices necessary for science!

Yeah Dakota, although I don't eat as much fast food as you, I must say that I haven't eaten salad this much since college. That's OK though. I'm growing to like it a lot more. There's nothing like a li'l roughage now and then.

TCM, I got the nature valley bars. They weren't hard to find, and actually on sale!

I predict that I will shit more than usual due to all these veggies and grains. Well in a few days we shall see!

what the fuck?! also, what happens if you're still hungry, or you cant finish the whole meal. and aslo, are you only supposed to drink liquids at the alotted times or do you have that specified amount to diminish through out the whole day. and does it matter if your o.j. is pulpy or not, and what if you're at a higher altitude?

man, i'd love to participate in this experiment. afterall, i'm a man of science and this is definitely a great cause.

HOWEVER, i knew after reading the menu i'd be hurtin' if i tried. i eat huge quantities of food and would've been a poor candidate in this undertaking.

I must confess on the first and half of the second day I was quite hungry too. However the chicken caesar salad was quite huge and filled me up for the remainder of the second day, and the third was more food. It was tough to stick to it and not yield to my cravings, especially for Nutter Butter cookies. But in the name of shit I did it. Since I'm going back to normal tomorrow I will probably pig out on all types of junk food, as well as chocolate milk, and mass quantities of bagels. Mmmmm. Bagels. It was damn tough to only eat one the second day.

I, too, have been struggling in the name of science. Hunger tempts me. I have been fantasizing about a huge greasy breakfast Friday morning. But science is more important -- one must sacrafice one's self for the greater good.

I'm with you AB2K. I only poop like once a day. Maybe. It's funny because my diet consists of a large portion of fruit, bread, and cheese with no red meat. (I have iron toxicity.) They say fruit makes you poop more and red meat makes you constipated. That's a load of crap. The more fruit I eat the less I poop and the harder it is.

Sounds like you had a pretty healthy diet. But is 32 oz. of water enough? I think whole grains do better than fruit for poop enhancement, but water is a biggy, too. What about coffee? Did you sacrifice that, too? I'd have a nuclear headache if I couldn't have my coffee! Good _job, guys.
