The Art Of Mr. Pooh

Posted 12.02.2006 by mister_pooh (21)
Editor's note: A few months ago PoopReport's old friend Trevor set up a PoopReport group on Flickr. It's seen some pretty cool posts, from Japanese Unko stickers to inventive urinal design to grafitti to fine art to incredibly handsome men. A few weeks ago, a California artist named Ophelia Chong began posting her drawings of Mr. Pooh: a silent, anthropomorphic excrement placed by the artist in various situations you rarely see sentient turds. With the artist's permission, below is a selection of the Mr. Poohs she's posted to Flickr, along with her annotations. And keep your eyes peeled -- we may see more of Mr. Pooh in the near future.

With the wind in his.....

Very imaginative cartoon. I had no idea about the PR group.

I checked out Ophelia Chong's page, lots of interesting stuff there.

Way to go Ophelia. You have quite a warped sense of humor. Love it!

This is fine work indeed. Whimsical, yet suggestive. I give this Ophelia Chong an A++! Best poop I have ever seen.

mister_pooh (21) -- 12.03.2006

Mister Pooh thanks you all. He is currently in his adobe hut creating new Pooh. He also is very fond of writing in the third person.

This is great stuff. I would like to see some T-shirts. I would buy one of the corn ones.

Mr. Poo reminds me of white ninja comics, but I think I like Mr. Poo better.

So, if I just draw a picture of a turd and let's say, superimpose it on a seat in an opera house, and caption it "Mr. Loaf enriches himself" that would be funny? You're kidding, right?
Okay, then. Watch for my cartoons about a piece of crap shaped like a horse. It's titled, "Whinnied the Poo." It's very hilarious. Just like this stuff.

I'm going to have to agree with BCB. I just don't get it.

Barking Spider ... (34) -- 12.04.2006

It's a very simple visual gag. It's the happy way the poo is drawn doing mundane things that makes people giggle. Why it works is inexplicable, but it definitely works. It's not rolling on the floor funny, but it makes you grin. I actually really liked your opera idea BCB. You should draw it and see how it compares with these.

I have painted a piece of crap shaped like a skunk. His name is Pepe Le Poop. The happy way he stenches a room makes people giggle in a mundane way.
I have also drawn a squinting, near-sighted grogan whose misadventures are told in my illustrated series, "Mr. McPoo Visits the Bog." It's very simple, and makes people gag mundanely.
My cartoon series of anthropomorphic prehistoric fecoliths is a rather droll ongoing story called, "The Fecostones". The farty neighbor, Barmy Rumble, is quite charming and makes people giggle. His gassy infant son, Blam Blam, regularly shatters the stone quarry with his paleolithic ass explosions. It's quite humorous when they attempt to potty train him, with hilarious results as he erupts like a young Mt. Etna. The young daughter, Diaper Pebbles, usually steals the episodes with her signature line, "Uh oh! Pepples made pebbles!" Adorable.

Does anyone else think Mr. Pooh looks a bit like a paramecium?

daphne (3325) -- 12.05.2006

Yes. Parafecium.

For serious, though, the peanut butter thing made me smile. I really do like many intellectual articles written here; however sometimes cartoons of poo will do. It reminds me of alot of the anime my daughter reads.
