True story... identity not available due to confidentialy agreement:
a friend was touring with a rock group from the european continent
they were in the states to complete a studio session before returning to the tour circuit
they adopted our toilet paper as something they wanted to pack up and include with their road equipment
my friend arranged to pack a container with enough TP to last the european tour and had it arrive with the road
equipment for the journey between the many concerts in europe
everything went well until one rainy day at a border crossing into a low-land country
the customs officials were suspicious about the unusual container and its TP contents and proceeded to inspect the
entire load -- convinced that contraband was hidden in the centers of the cardboard tubes
so they stopped the caravan of tractor trailers and, in the pouring rain, proceeded to examine the cases of TP ---
unwrapping each and every roll to check inside the cardboard tube
as the fruitless inspection passed, the frustration of the customs officials increased, but they were convinced
that something would be found
the entire shipment was examined and ruined in the rain without finding anything
to remedy the situation, a resupply was ordered but shipments were reduced in size to fit in one of those modular
airplane freight containers which united states customs inspected and sealed before leaving the states and the group
was finally able to enjoy their favorite TP without further aggravation from local customs officials.
