You wouldn't expect a professional football team to be dishing out harsh treatment to its male fans for ultra-macho behavior. But when a male fan was
caught using the women's restroom during a Pats-Packers game in Foxborough's Gillette Stadium, the team revoked six season tickets that belonged to the guest's Connecticut-based company.
Six season tickets being a valuable commodity, the company sued the New England Patriots to regain them. But last Friday a state appeals court judge ruled in favor of the team. The judge thought the action by the Patriots was "Draconian" -- but within their rights. Imagine an opera company disciplining women for using the men's room during intermission. This will never happen. Seems to me that this double standard has been around for some time now. Is it justifiable?
