A Norwegian man is to appeal after he was fined about $500 for taking a piss in the ocean. [1] Frode Abelvik, 38, urinated from a pier after leaving a late night bar in Arendal this summer. He had first tried to get back into the bar but was refused and there were no public restrooms in the town. "I was not drunk and I could have chosen to go behind a bush or a fence like many people do," he said. "But I chose to do it in a place that would not disturb anyone." He was seen by the cops who issued him with an on the spot fine that he refused to pay. He risks a jail sentence but has received a high level of public support.
