CONTEST #18: The 'Turd Blossom' Controversy Drawing Contest

So the news broke yesterday that a dozen newspapers around the country are refusing to run [2] two days worth of the cartoon Doonesbury [3] because the strips refer to Karl Rove [4], President Bush's Chief of Staff, as "Turd Blossom."

But even more incredible than the media's exaggerated puritanism is the fact that "Turd Blossom" isn't something Doonesbury made up -- it's actually one of President Bush's nicknames for Karl Rove [5]!

All this begs the question: what exactly is a turd blossom?
