A woman who used an herbal medicine described as an "internal cleansing" agent [1] was hospitalized shortly afterwards when she began experiencing symptoms of heart poisoning, including vomiting, weakness and a slowed heart rate, according to a report released this week.
The woman purchased the product, which was promoted as being made out of plants from the Amazon, from an urban street vendor. According to instructions, it should have been divided into four doses, but the woman consumed the entire package at one time.
