Another filthy cat house

I recently reported a cat-and-poop story [1]. This story is a new one--from New York, whereas the first was St. Louis. This is tragic, and becoming far too frequent.
==================

More than 50 dead cats were found in a filthy house on Staten Island, while more than two dozen live felines roamed among the carcasses and mounds of trash.

Mike Pastore, director of field operations at the city's Center for Animal Care and Control, described a heartbreaking and gruesome scene in which animal control officers opened the door of the Post Ave. home in Port Richmond on Monday and found several cat skeletons in the hallway. One cat was discovered dead in a carrier.

"I bet he was never let out," Pastore said.

A Tweety Bird flag hung outside the house. Inside,
the rooms were filled with trash and cat feces [2]. It wasn't clear last night whether the cats starved to death or died of an untreated illness or disease.
