JUNE 4:
The teenager who swallowed a $3,000 ring he allegedly pilfered from a home in Bloomfield Township is helping police in a big way:
He offered to recover the ring while in jail after his digestive system is -- well, done with it [1].
"I'd like to say I'll cooperate in every way," Daniel Dyament, 19, of Macomb Township told 48th District Judge Kimberly Small on Tuesday after he was charged with larceny from a building -- a 4-year felony.
and then, JUNE 6:
All things must pass, so to speak. And that's just what happened in the case of the missing diamond ring.
The $3,000 ring -- allegedly taken and swallowed by Daniel Dyament, 19, while working with a carpet-cleaning crew at the home of Tim and Maria Reilly in Bloomfield Township on Monday -- was recovered Thursday after working its way through Dyament.
The ring will be returned to the Reillys after it has been used as evidence, said McCanham. Maria Reilly said when she gets it back, "I'm not really sure what to do with it. I need to check it out and see how I feel about it [2]."
