[1]getting down and dirty [2]. But new technologies are increasingly turning this into a white-collar crime.
Take the case of Danny Doyen, superintendent of schools in Bruceville-Eddy, Texas. Using the school's credit card, he purchased a camera disguised as an air freshener which he installed on a shelf about three feet from the toilet in the women's restroom [3] at the school administration office. After doing a bit of sleuthing to figure out what the $299 credit charge was for, an alert office clerk contacted police.
On his arrest, Mr. Doyen admitted to installing the camera to "obtain nude photos of female employees." Maybe he thought the police would understand.
