Is it true that floating poop means that I am a methane producer???
Dr. Adams responds:
I really am not sure about how methane and floating poop correlate. However, what I can tell you is that we ALL produce methane to varying degrees. One of the components of our flatulence (farts) is methane. Other components are oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, etc..... The methane is mostly produced by bacteria in our colons that break down food products and sugars than enter the colon.
So you are a methane producer, and anyone with a colon also is a methane producer. The floating poop has more to do with the fat/fiber you eat than the methane that you produce.
