Example one, as submitted by Wynn D. Bottom [1]. "Dave: Kimberly-Clark has introduced a new automated toilet paper dispenser. Americans, it seems, typically use twice as much toilet paper as Europeans -- as much as an arm's length each pull. Kimberly-Clark has decided that the ideal length is much less than that: twenty inches, or precisely five standard toilet paper squares. And so they've introduced an automatic toilet paper dispenser that only dispenses a set amount of paper [2]. The company believes most people will be satisfied with five sheets."

Example two, as pointed out by crapslikeclockwork [3]: a CCTV surveillance camera in England has caught a serial shitter [4]. "It subsequently became apparent that this was not an isolated occasion, but appeared to be a regular stopping-off point. It would appear that the man concerned regularly traveled between Birkenshaw and Brighouse and, instead of finding a public toilet, pulled up at the side of the road to do his 'business' there and then."

Pro: technology catches a turd terrorist. Con: technology limits bathroom comfort. Discuss.
