My husband grew up in Guatemala. He has had hemorrhoids since he was about nine years old. He has had continuous bleeding (heavy -- a toiletful every time!) and continuous pain. He has taken fiber, used Gycolax, and recently had the rubber band thing done. Still bleeding!!! It always feels better when he's sitting, and it bothers him more when standing. When he’s going to the bathroom, there’s a lot of bleeding, and his anus prolapses every time. He has to sit for a minute to get it to go back in, or literally push it back in with his fingers!!!
What is your opinion? He's had this problem all his life and is fed up with it! Please help!
Dear H4L
This sounds like a bloody, shitty mess!
This will just get worse if not. Your hubby might need surgery to repair this. A person's rectum can prolapse a long way, potentially creating a pool of coagulated blood, which can cause problems such as clot formation. You don't wanna clot going through your body! Plus, the rectum has pretty sensitive lining. If it's bleeding already and he's digging around with his pokey fingers in there, there's a slight possibility he could puncture his bowel.
Tell your hubby to see a doctor already. Cripes!
Good luck, Snapper
