I'm a boxer man and I use ventilation system when I wear pants. It just seems so much easier than trying to pull down the boxers through the opened zipper of the pants. Heck, even if I'm just running around the house in my boxers only and I have to piss, I still use the opening.

Interestingly, it never occurred to me that anybody who knew how to use the opening of their shorts would do anything else at the urinal. My boy will pull his pants and underwear down even at the urinal, but then he's a special case.

My 10 year old son is also a special case (autistic), and he totally removes his pants and underwear when he poops.

He was a late toilet-trainee, but he's pretty much trained now, but some days he wipes himself better than other days. His other problem is that when he puts his underwear back on, sometimes he puts it on backwards. We're still trying to get him to understand that the "label goes in the back".

My son is autistic also. He started pooping on the toilet at about 5 years old and didn't really seem to master it, though, until 7. He used to strip when pooping but he got over that one fairly quickly. He tries to wipe his ass, but I think it's just a ritual to him and not a functional activity.

He'll put his zippered pants and button down shirts on with the proper orientation but everything else is "catch as catch can". Even shoes. He still hasn't mastered the idea that the in-steps of the shoes should face each other.

That could depend on the size of the man, I tend to just lift and over the waist line, its much easier and faster than proding around in my pants while some other guy stands beside me taking a piss.

Time to get scientific. I'll speak for guys here. If you're walking about in only your boxers, the fly should be your easiest method of extraction. If you have sweats on over them, the over under method would be best as you have to go over the sweats anyway. If you are wearing jeans, the unzip and fish procedure is necessary unless you want to drop your jeans down (not recommended at public urinals). If you're wearing spandex, well you belong in the ladies room. I think the poll did not take enough into consideration.

I like this clarification, it takes many factors into account. I was at first quite shocked that anyone would not use the slot; after I read PD's post, it occurred to me that the reason for my preference is that I wear briefs, and jeans with a belt (and my shirt always tucked in) 99.9% of the time outside the house, hence my habits. I also noticed that at home in my boxers I usually go over the top and occasionally out the leg, depending on how loose they are.

Ya know, If I'm wearing boxers, the opening in front tends to gape open anyway... I also wear jeans or slacks, so going over the top would be a painful hassle- and require MORE fishing for junk, then simply unzipping my fly.

I guess I don't understand why one would want to reach all the way down one's pants, grab the trouser snake, and pull him out the top- THEN have to hold down the waistband with one hand while aiming with the other, to avoid painfully pinching your urethra. Wouldn't it be easier to simply reach through the hole provided, and drag the beast out?

And, no I do NOT walk around in just boxers- for just the reason stated in my first sentence. Mr Happy tends to take advantage of the open door to come out for a look. " Hello!!! How's it goin, folks?"

Thanks for the link Loaf.....this is indeed a problem as we older males of the species have discovered. Older females with their tits lined up with their belly buttons experience no pain, shame perhaps but no physical pain, but we who sit on our balls know the true meaning of the word agony.

Makes me think of a book I read years ago, I believe it was a James Bond book. He was tied naked in a chair with no bottom and then his scrotum was relaxed with a stream of warm air from a hair dryer.
