I have been contacted by SpikeTV to help with a segment on their upcoming new show MANswers. From what I can tell, their show explores the questions on every red-blooded male's mind. In this case it's this: can you die from pooping?

They're going to interview me next week on the subject. As far as I know, no PoopReporter has ever submitted a story about death by pooping. (Elvis comes close, but technically he died by not pooping.)

So: can anyone remember a poop story from the archives that involves death or grievous bodily harm from pooping? If so, please remind me of it here. And if anyone has any good leads into the subject, please let me know. (They're not interested in the medical side of things -- they've already interviewed doctors and such. They're looking for anecdotes.)

Lenny Bruce the comedian died on the toilet (shooting up) what is Ironic is he had a comedy bit called "dirty toilet".

Ken Lay the asshole from enron was taking a dump when he suffered his heart attack which killed him, he did a faceplant off the throne into his bathtub.

Haven't seen too many where somebody actually died from a poop though, you could always mention the Soprano's episode where the one guy died straining to get a poop out, Spike is going to be running the Sopranos (heavily edited).

I'd say the Big Wiper has the corner on this market. He did some excellent Elvis reporting, and there was that "He died on the pot" or "throne" story he wrote.

I have that story about my friend Ray who fell off the pot while peeing and hurt himself because was drunk, but that was not pooping. It was a drinking accident. Don't think that qualifies.

Motherload has some stuff written up about pushing too hard and constipation in the new Journal. I think that would be also nice.

Jesus, Thunderbox, those two sentences rolled off your fingers like you've been killing people for years.

If you ever get fired, I suggest you get a job as one of those guys who narrates at gun shows. Your glib description of weapons of man coupled with a Brit's accent would steal the show. And, you would get to see those babes dressed in red, white and blue bikinis who have grossly big ta-tas.

The airplane "blue ice" story, though it's more of a way you could potentially be killed by poop rather than someone who did.

perhaps talk about the stories we came up with for the "Death of Dave" contest. If all else it would give you a minute or two to praise the imagination of poopreporters in imagining different poop related ways to die.

Actuly yes you CAN die from pooping.

But it is not the Direct Cause.

1. If you are constipated to badly you can STRAIN pushing so badly that it causes a rupture in your bowls. Causing you to Bleed out

2. If for some reason your in the habbit of eating forun objects while in the process of taking the shit that object could puncture/scrap/lodge etc in your bowles and same result as #1 you bleed out.

I know about #1 personaly because when i used to be a CNA (Certifyed Nurses Aid) in a rest home i watched a guy basicaly kill himself trying to take a shit. Was a sad story.

Uh Yes For 4 years before my father died from cancer. After wich i fell into a deep depresion wich im still clawing my way out of.

Just can not handle taking care of the sick and elderly any more
