A couple comments here:

One: Oregon might be the home of some of the kookiest raw foodists in the country. I got to know a few of them and one, a young woman I got to know verrrrrrry well, I was able to corrupt by enticing her to try the garlic fries at a restaurant here in town. She probably confessed her sins at their next brickfest, but she sure wasn't complaining as she downed about a pound of the finest garlic fries any person ever ingested.

Two: These high colonic nutjobs will have you believe your digestive tract is just jammed full of undigested stuff nestled in the nooks and crannies - things like roughage, plastic, utensils, insects, what have you. Maybe it is, for some fringe types who eat their food while still in the packaging.
However, I had a job long ago as a "diener", the person who removes the viscera for a pathologist to examine in an autopsy. In that job, one of my tasks was to slit the intestines along their length and remove their contents. I disemboweled probably 200 people, and not once did I ever see a foreign object that wasn't clearly food related, and I never saw anything other than partially or completely digested matter adhering to the crenualated walls of the bowel.

Most of this colonic flush stuff is nonsense, in my opinion. The exception might be when one is embarking on a new diet and wants to be sure that all traces of the old, less beneficial foodstuffs are gone from the system. Why that might matter, I'll never know.

First post!
Oops, guess not.
Okay, then, my 57th point!
Yay for me!
Okay, okay, I'll answer the survey: If my poop floats, it means I've once again mistakenly crapped in the big toilet full of mercury we keep for emergencies.
At least I can grab it easily with the salad tongs to get it out. Always look for the silver lining. That's just the way I am.

Jerusalem J: Believe me when I tell you that you're only kidding yourself. Once you've shat yourself, the seal is broken. It accelerates, rather than stopping. It took you 37 years for the first accident. Expect the next one in less than 2 years, and from there it will become monthly, then weekly, then daily, then hourly.....
Abandon all hope. You've already found out that it's not so bad... didn't you say you got a "warm..feeling"? Warm is good, J.J., right? You know you were "disgusted...humiliated.." in a way you found oddly...Exciting!

I'm a bit on the conservative side in these matters, having denied myself the poop-in-the-pants experience since babyhood. But I'm living vicariously through you and others, J.J. More details, if you will!

Healthy 1: Sorry about sticking you with that "Wind Beneath My Wings" song. A few days ago I played "Unchained Melody" about 20 times in a row, followed by about an equal number of "Southern Cross" by CSN. It's not always a bad song that clings to your brain... you just sort of drew the short straw!
And Dumpster, ever since I first saw this site, two things struck me: 1) A sort of gentle spirit, even when giving someone else a hard time, and 2) There are a group of people who frequent this site that I would have given anything to have known a long time before now.

Maybe, like me, you've found that the majority of the folks you meet are going to react predictably if you try to interject a little poop talk into the conversation, especially if it's in a mixed setting. Guys seem okay with fart talk and crap talk when it's just guys. The difference with the people on this site is that it's not primarily about grossing each other out. There's something else going on here, and that's never more evident than when someone posts about a health concern. The amount of effort expended on trying to offer advice, reassurance, empathy, or guidance is really something else.

So, post on, all you high-pointers. I'll toss one in here and there, always keeping in mind that this is a community more than anything else.

I work for a state agency. Our salaries are based on us working 1,950 hours a year.
Why do I mention this? I kind of get the impression that there are a few people who have put in a couple state-agency-years posting stories and comments on PR, that's why!
May I say that I speak for every government worker in the country when I say how proud I am of you all? As this new year begins, and those 1,950 hours stretch out before me, it's the thought of your dedication that will keep me focused on reaching the end of the year..... My hat is off to all of you. I'm sure there were days when, like me, you were merely a double-digit poster wondering what kind of stamina, drive, and determination it would take to reach the lofty hundreds and - yes! - thousands of posts.... was it only a few years ago? And yet you all seem as fresh and excited about your posts as in your early days of discovering PR...not a one seems jaded, blase, mailing it in....
I am in awe. You truly are the wind beneath our wings!
