Poop has always made me laugh, even before I had Celiac. I can't be too much of shameful shitter because I have so often had to tell friends or family that I had shit myself, or ask them to please guard a hiking trail (quick!) for me to squat n squirt. Yet I must be shameful because I sometimes have a dream where I'm sitting on the pot shitting while lots of people are milling about, and there is humiliation. I now live in France where people can't seem to laugh at potty humor - I'm trying to understand why that is. I'm 46 and had undiagnosed celiac for so long that poo is part of who I am. I stopped eating gluten a couple of months ago but my husband predicts that I'll never have the pleasure of pinching a loaf. I have not enjoyed that feeling for at least 18 years. If I ever turd, I will take a picture. As for my husband, I guess he enjoys my percussive music and the artwork on the porcelin.
From the Poop Culture book, which I found out about on Wikipedia (under humor -> toilet humor). I ordered it after I got frustrated that my French boss couldn't laugh at poop jokes. He said it was for common uneducated masses. I got mad and decided to better understand why poop is funny.
